Consciousness, What is it? (From my point of view, post NDE )

Please…

bear with me—

as I invite something deeper forward.

This isn’t just a thought.

It’s something within—

rising slowly, in layers…

the way truth often does.

Because here’s the thing:

if we, as humans, were handed the entire truth about consciousness—

the full, raw, unfiltered truth—

we wouldn’t be able to hold it.

We wouldn’t understand it.

We’d resist it.

And more than likely…

we’d reject it completely.

We’d crucify it.

Burn it.

Call it evil.

Just like we did to the “witches” in Salem.

Just like we’ve done to anything that didn’t fit the mold.

That’s the sad truth of the human perspective.

If we can’t grasp it,

if it doesn’t fit into doctrine or dogma,

if it challenges too much too fast—

then it must be “of the devil.”

But that’s not truth.

That’s fear.

So I ask for patience—

as this knowing reveals itself,

gently,

in time,

and only in the ways we’re ready to receive it.****

My understanding of consciousness comes from my near-death experience in 2019.

Yes—consciousness is awareness.

But it is more than that. Consciousness is who we are, both in this life and beyond it. It carries our history, our karma, our growth. It is the evolving essence of our being—always exactly where it needs to be, yet ready to shift and grow when the moment calls for it.

Consciousness isn’t fixed. It isn’t always right. It learns. It adapts.

It can apologize.

It is humble—but will stand up when truth must be spoken.

Though consciousness carries deep truth, it is also shaped by the current DNA and experiences of the life we’re living. That influence can blur clarity, but never erases what’s at the core.

Where is our consciousness?

In my experience, we are each housed in what I saw as pods—energetic enclosures that encase our consciousness. These pods are not physical, but they are real. They hold the shell of our true self, and from there, we project into this current form of existence.

Our consciousness travels with the body, but it also moves freely—it visits other spaces in dreams, in imagination, in those quiet moments when we slip between the seams of this reality. It creates. It also destroys. It is both sculptor and storm.

There are many layers of consciousness—countless, in fact. And no one layer should ever be compared to another. Each of us is evolving on a path that is ours alone. Some are here to guard love. Others are here to wage sacred wars. Both roles are needed. Neither is wrong.

We are not all meant to be the same. Consciousness expresses itself in many forms, many levels, many truths. And in that diversity, we become whole.

If I explained it more easily in writing it would say…

My understanding of consciousness comes from my near-death experience in 2019.

Yes—consciousness is awareness.

But it’s more than that.

Consciousness is who we are—

in this life…

and beyond.

It carries our history.

Our karma.

Our becoming.

It’s the unfolding of our being—always where it needs to be, but ready to shift when the moment calls for change.

And no, it’s not always right.

It learns.

It grows.

It can apologize.

It can humble itself—

yet rise up when truth must be spoken.

Though consciousness holds deep, unshakable truths,

it’s also shaped—

by the DNA of the life we’re living now.

By the body, by the experience, by the moment.

And so I’m often asked—

where is our consciousness?

Well…

What I witnessed, during my near-death experience, was this:

we are each housed in something I can only describe as a pod.

These pods… they encase our consciousness.

They’re not physical,

but they are real.

They hold the shell of who we truly are.

And from within them,

we project ourselves into this current form of existence.

Our consciousness moves with us—

but it also travels,

in dreams, in visions, in those still moments between waking and sleeping.

It imagines.

It creates.

It destroys.

There are layers to consciousness—many of them.

And no layer should ever be compared to another.

We are all on different paths,

moving at different speeds,

toward different truths.

Some of us are here to hold love.

Some are here to fight.

Both are sacred.

Both are necessary.

Neither is wrong.

Because consciousness—

real consciousness—

expresses itself in infinite ways.

And in that…

in that diversity…

we become whole.

Art, I wish it were mine.
