Cats, Pumpkins, Shadows in Trees, Ghosts, and Witches

By BoJenn

We love the shadows that scare us.

We love the shadows that scare us—

the stretch of cats in the moonlight,

pumpkins glowing with secret smiles,

branches that twist into ghostly hands,

whispers of spirits drifting close,

and witches riding the edge of the night.

We Love Our Shadows

We love Halloween—

even the children forbidden to see.

The shadows call us,

a magnetic force pulling us through.

We slip beyond the veil,

into the parallel dimension,

where laughter echoes like whispers,

and we meet the other side of ourselves.

It is merely our other side.

Our dreams lead us

Into the eyes of the pumpkin

Come with me this week as I explore Halloween and our dark side. Our parallel shadows that we hide.
