Do you or your family make any special dishes for the holidays?
The answer is “yes,” though we tend to fall back on the familiar dishes most of the time. What’s changed for me, especially lately, is that the food isn’t really the center of things anymore. I find myself looking forward to the company more than the menu—visiting with people, catching up, sharing a moment or two. And it doesn’t have to be family, either. There’s a comfort in simply being around others whose presence feels easy, even if the meal itself is nothing fancy.
