Sovereign Respect, Dignity

By BoJenn

We hold fast to the strength of our belief,

and each heart clings to the truth it knows.

What is planted within cannot be uprooted by another,

Yet peace cannot dwell where respect is absent,

for conviction is the soil of the soul.

and harmony cannot take root

where dignity is cast aside.

The walls we raise with pride and scorn

become prisons to our own spirit.

Therefore the question endures,

passing from one generation to the next:

How shall we restore honor to one another?

How shall we lift the fallen,

and see the image of worth

in those whose ways are not our own?

For without dignity, there is no peace.

Without respect, there is no bond.

And without love, the strength of belief itself

turns to ash in the wind.
