“The Art of Becoming: Creating Through Consciousness”

🌙 Workshop Title Idea??? Any thoughts about this project?

“The Art of Becoming: Creating Through Consciousness”

(I can adjust the title to my liking — it’s evocative yet leaves room for mystery.)

🕯️ I. Atmosphere & Setting

Before your students arrive:

Dim or soften the lights. Light a candle or use gentle ambient sound (rain, wind, heartbeat, soft flute, or Tibetan singing bowls). Prepare materials: paper, pencils, charcoal, paint, or any tactile medium. Ask them to bring an open mind — “We will not be drawing objects; we will be drawing awareness.”

🧘‍♀️ II. Opening Invocation

Begin by saying something like:

“Before creation, there is stillness.

Before the brush meets the paper, there is the breath.

Close your eyes. Let’s travel inward, where form has not yet begun.”

Then guide them:

1. Breathing (2–3 minutes):

“Take a slow breath in… feel the air expanding within your chest — and as you exhale, feel yourself letting go of the world outside.

With each breath, move deeper inward — into a quiet space where images live before they are seen.”

2. Inner Vision (3–5 minutes):

“In this darkness behind your eyelids, imagine a soft light beginning to glow.

What color is it?

Does it move like water, or pulse like sound?

Let it show you something — a shape, a color, an emotion, a symbol.

You don’t need to name it — just observe.”

Pause gently, then say:

“Now, when you open your eyes, let your hand translate that vision — not what you saw, but what you felt.”

🎨 III. Creation Phase

Encourage intuitive expression rather than technical skill:

“Let your hand move before your mind explains.” “If you want to switch tools or colors midstream, do so — follow impulse.” “You are not painting what you see — you are painting what is seeing through you.”

Allow silence or soft music during this part (20–30 minutes).

🔮 IV. Reflection & Sharing

Afterward, have them sit back and look at what emerged.

You might say:

“Ask your image what it wants you to know.

Does it speak in color, texture, or movement?”

Invite brief sharing. No critiques — only reflections, such as:

“I felt calm as I drew this.” “This red shape surprised me.” “I think this is a memory of light.”

✨ V. Closing

You might end with:

“Creation is the echo of consciousness itself.

Each line and hue you made today was your soul remembering its language.

Keep that channel open — it is how the invisible becomes visible.”

Keep in mind that every person has a different perspective on creating. Some have been taught as a child that creativity and imagination are useful and valuable while others have been taught that it’s not important and that it’s “devilish” or something of that sort of thinking even linking it to failures in businesses. Yep. Can you imagine that? Me either, but they ask for someone to be level headed, or down to earth. Creativity is not down to earth, but is an exploration and interpretation of what is given us from the unknowns. Some labeled this as truly demonic, but let me ask them, how do you know what you are praying to? You’ve been told it’s an angel or godly, but in honesty, you don’t know who or who are really praying to, do you?

So, as for me, I’m accepting the wonderful gifts that are given to me. I hope you will too. There’s so much to learn, and to love what is given freely. You must open yourself and be free to express.

All let’s care on… Creators are people who are at different levels and no one is better than or comparable to another. Artists often compare and compete against others, but truly, one person cannot be compared to another person because each of us is unique in every way possible. Some artists love the outside and oils are perfect for the landscapes and others love clay and dirt and create fantastic clay pottery and sculptures. I wish my hands loved the textures in creating these beautiful items. My hands and brain dislike the textures and I can thank autism for this. I have a mild diagnosis that affected many artistic compositions that involve what my mind tabulates as non touchable for me. Yikes. It can be a problem.

And furthermore,

I once had an art teacher or leader (we never teach anyone how to draw, we can’t, but we can inspire them to come out of themselves and create their own work and identity) who said, “that’s nice and lovely. You have talent, but now, create you. Create your loves, and not what you have been told to love. Be yourself. If you are truly yourself, you will achieve your goals and dreams.”

So, I say the same to you. Create you. Don’t create me or anyone else. Find the colors that you love, find the medium, find your textures and find what makes you feel satisfied.

Now, let’s begin

I created the copy of my book a few years ago and I used a famous Israeli artist named (can’t remember!!!!) who inspired me. His colors and his mysticism were magnificent and his style led me into my own creation.

We must inspire ourselves. That means, who we are and not who we’ve been told to be. I was always told to create a landscape or an apple 🍎 with a vase on a table, and it wasn’t until I decided to explore some way out art instructors (some on YouTube and other places) that I started to fine the real me. I knew that I loved fantasy and I searched out art instructors who demonstrated their own techniques and I began to follow much of their instructions.

So… it’s time to free yourself and fly away into the complex world of your consciousness and dreams, and out of your own mind will come forth onto the canvas or paper. Give yourself permission. It’s time to let go, it time to be you and not the instructor’s instructions. Yes, you can and will always make mistakes, but good grief! Give yourself permission to learn, and we make progress in our mistakes. Never throw anything away. Never!

Until later, when we meet in person…
