I Wouldn’t Chase Luxury

What would you do if you won the lottery?

If I won the lottery, I’d make sure the people I love are secure—homes settled, worries gone. Then I’d quietly fund truth: research, archives, and stories that were buried because they made power uncomfortable. I wouldn’t put my name on buildings; I’d stay in the margins.

I’d create a calm place for thinkers and artists to work without pressure, dogs underfoot and good coffee nearby. Most of all, I’d finally give myself the time to finish the work I’ve carried for years—writing, connecting the dots, leaving a clean record.

I wouldn’t chase luxury. I’d choose clarity, autonomy, and meaning.
