During my near-death experience, I asked for my deafness to be healed — as if the restoration of hearing would somehow make me whole again.

My guide spoke to me without words, only through thought: “Really? Are you certain that you need your ears healed here?”

The question puzzled me. I reached up to touch my ears, but they weren’t there. Neither was my body — no eyes, no hands, nothing physical at all. Yet, I could still see and hear, not in the usual sense, but through awareness itself. Perception flowed through me effortlessly, untouched by limits.

Still, out of habit, I believed I was incomplete. I kept searching for senses I no longer needed, trying to understand how to experience without a body. No one explained it to me. Instead, I was given a question — an opening — an invitation to discover that what I thought I lacked was never missing.
