Paxton Quigley

Last night my dreaming mind reached all the way back to 1968 and handed me a character I haven’t thought about in decades: Paxton Quigley from Three in the Attic.

It made me wonder… why do certain fictional characters stay hidden somewhere in our minds for fifty or sixty years, only to suddenly walk back onto the stage?

Maybe dreams don’t preserve the story as much as they preserve the feeling.

Have you ever dreamed about a movie, book, or character you hadn’t thought about since childhood? Did you wake up wondering why that memory returned after all those years?

Sometimes I think our unconscious has a better filing system than we do.
