A Circle of Peace Divination
You will need:
- One white candle (clarity and peace)
- One blue candle (calm communication)
- A small bowl of water
- A pinch of sea salt
- Rosemary or bay leaves (protection)
- A small stone or shell from the beach, if you have one
Light the white candle first, then the blue.
Place the salt into the water and gently stir it clockwise three times while saying:
“May this gathering be guided by curiosity rather than conflict.
May those who enter come with open minds or quietly pass by.
May respect surround this space as surely as the sea surrounds the shore.”
Hold your stone or shell and quietly reflect on three questions:
- What energy do I want everyone to feel when they arrive?
- How will I respond if someone challenges me?
- What part of me remains peaceful regardless of another person’s opinion?
ask:
“What quality should I embody to keep this gathering harmonious?”
End by saying:
“Only those who come in goodwill may enter this circle of conversation.
May disagreement become dialogue, and hostility find no place to take root.
So may it be.”
This kind of ritual doesn’t seek to repel people because of their religion. Instead, it invites respectful participants and helps you remain centered if someone with a different viewpoint attends. It also fits well with the theme of your book review, which is encouraging people to explore consciousness from their own perspectives.
