Honestly

BoJenn

For the past month, I have been unable—and unwilling—to watch the news. I realized that continually exposing myself to it was feeding an anger so intense that I sometimes felt furious, consumed, and dangerously close to losing control.

I began to hate people simply because I disagreed with them. I even recognized that, in that state of mind, I would not trust myself with a gun. That realization demanded honesty and action.

So I turned off the news and turned up the music.

Honestly, I have not felt this good in years. I am choosing rhythm over rage, movement over misery, and peace over the endless machinery of outrage.

Let me be equally honest: I cannot stand the orange beast in office. If he left office tomorrow and disappeared from public life, I would smile. But no matter how fierce my anger becomes, it does not give me the right to deny another person’s humanity or equal right to exist. I do not want anyone harmed, and I refuse to let hatred transform me into someone I do not recognize.

My anger is real—but it will not control me. I am reclaiming my peace, my judgment, and my joy.

The news can wait. I have music to hear, a life to live, and dancing to do.
