If you could go back in time and give your younger self advice, what would it be?
Dear Younger Bonnie,
It’s me. Your future self. I’m 74, still curious, still rebellious, and still occasionally wondering what on Earth possessed us to make certain decisions!
First, stop trying to fix men. You’re not running a rehabilitation center, sweetheart. And trust me, some of them don’t come with replacement parts!
Second, learn how to manage money before it starts managing you. Having several bank accounts does not automatically make you a financial genius. 😂
Third, stop apologizing for being intelligent, different, outspoken, or unconventional. You’re not everyone’s cup of tea. You’re more like a mysterious Scottish brew with a little witchcraft thrown in.
Fourth, buy the plane ticket. Visit Scotland. Write the book. Paint the picture. Kiss the handsome man—after you’ve checked his character!
And finally, don’t waste your beautiful youth worrying about wrinkles, weight, or whether someone approves of you.
One day you’ll be 74, creating magical pictures, writing stories, exploring the mysteries of the universe, and laughing at the absurdity of being human.
My final advice? Be a little wiser, a lot more adventurous, and never, ever surrender your sense of humor.
Love,
Your older, slightly more eccentric self. 🧙♀️💜
